14 colleges to gather at JCTC for quick recall tournament
LOUISVILLE, KY -- Fourteen colleges and universities from across the region will gather at Jefferson Community and Technical College Southwest Campus on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, for a Kentucky Collegiate Quick Recall League tournament.

Land set aside for potential new Carrollton Campus
Carrollton, KY (Nov. 21, 2007) – A prime parcel of state land near I-71 is now open to a new use and Carroll County officials intend for it to hold a community college.

Cardinal Hill Healthcare System has agreed to relinquish a lease it had on land off U.S. 227, directly across from General Butler State Resort Park. The move clears the way for a long-hoped-for expanded college campus.

Faculty build powerful telescope from scratch
It sounds like a class project: build a telescope system from mostly homemade parts and volunteer labor. But this telescope is serious business, already peering in on Venus, Jupiter and the Moon from the Otter Creek Observatory.

For many students just the thought of math class makes them worry. Will I understand it? Can I pass the class? Why do I need math anyway?  But of course, math is an integral part of everyday life and a critical skill in many of the professions Jefferson students will enter. So the college has embarked on a five-year process to change the way students think about math and the way some math classes are taught. It is a program known as Jefferson Counts and it is JCTC’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
