Jefferson Technical

The Jefferson Technical Campus is located just seven blocks west of the Downtown Campus and is home to many of the college’s technical and trades programs: Automotive Technology, Criminal Justice, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Electrical Technology, Fire Science Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Plumbing, Visual Communication (Desktop Publishing), Welding, and Wood Manufacturing Technology. The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is offered at the extended campus at Shawnee High School.

Some important information for the Technical Campus include the following: 


  • The first step to enrolling at Jefferson Community and Technical College is to fill out an application.
  • If you're a returning student who has been not been enrolled for one or more semesters, you'll need to fill out an application as well.
  • After your application is accepted, you may be admitted to Jefferson as a freshman, as a student with advanced standing from other institutions, as a visiting student, or as a non-degree student.

Assessment/COMPASS/Placement testing:

  • Students take the three-part COMPASS assessment to help academic advisors determine skill levels in reading, writing and mathematics. 
  • The COMPASS is used to place students into appropriate courses and not to determine whether a student is admitted to the college.
  • The COMPASS is taken after a student is admitted to the college.

  • A parking permit is required each semester — it is good for all Jefferson campuses.
