Admissions

  • The first step to enrolling at Jefferson Community and Technical College is to fill out an application.
  • If you're a returning student who has been not been enrolled for one or more semesters, you'll need to fill out an application as well.
  • After your application is accepted, you may be admitted to Jefferson as a freshman, as a student with advanced standing from other institutions, as a visiting student, or as a non-degree student.

Advising

  • Advising at Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) has a mission of serving prospective and current students in need of advisement  for academics, career and life.

Assessment/COMPASS/Placement testing

  • Students take the three-part COMPASS assessment to help academic advisors determine skill levels in reading, writing and mathematics. 
  • The COMPASS is used to place students into appropriate courses and not to determine whether a student is admitted to the college.
  • The COMPASS is taken after a student is admitted to the college.

Cashier/payment

  • Please note that once you enroll in courses, you become financially obligated.
  • If you do not plan to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from classes following the withdrawal schedule in the Academic Calendar.

Parking

  • Parking is located behind Building A & B
  • A parking permit is required each semester — it is good for all Jefferson campuses. 
  • Pick up your parking permit from the Cashiers Office when you pay or confirm your tuition. 
  • The parking fee is included in the security fee
