What is an academic program code and where do I find it?

  • An academic program code identifies what area of study or major you are going to pursue at Jefferson.
  • Your academic advisor will help make sure you have the correct code.
  • If you are a new student to Jefferson and are filling out an application just use the academic program code for 'Undecided' which is 0001000000.

What are the hours of the Southwest Advising Center?

Southwest Campus Advising Center Hours:

    • Students need to arrive no later than a ½ hour before the scheduled closing time in order to be seen.
    • The Advising Center is located in the Student Community Building, Room 100A,  502-213-7377
    • Advising beginning on August 11 will be held in the LRC building.
    • Students with 18+ hours and who have completed an Academic Program Plan may register online through your Student Self Service Access.

When will I have access to my KCTCS email account?

A student gets email access 24-48 hours (2 business days; weekends and holidays are excluded) after enrolling in a regular college credit class. 

Before that they have access to student self-service (aka Peoplesoft or PS).

What are the hours for the Downtown Advising Center?

  • The Advising Center is located in the JEC Building, room 606.
  • Hours of operation (by appointment): Monday – Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Closed on Friday
  • Walk-in advising will take place on In-Person Registration days.  View the registration calendar for the list of in-person registration days.

New student advising is completed during our all in one orientations.  If you have specific questions contact your advisor listed below.  If they aren’t available please leave a voicemail.
