Electronic Health Record Training Program

Federal law requires everyone to have an Electronic Health Record (EHR) by 2015. The work required to reach this goal is expected to create a high demand health IT professionals in several specialties to support this project.

Jefferson Community & Technical College’s intensive non-degree education program -- offered online -- is designed to provide a pool of qualified individuals who have both healthcare and information technology knowledge.

These individuals will be needed to ensure the electronic health record will be processed with quality and efficiency while maintaining privacy and security of medical information.

Jefferson offers a 6-month program with specialties in “Practice workflow and information management redesign specialist,” “Clinician/practitioner consultant,” and “Trainer.”

The total cost of the training for each workforce role is $540.00.  The initial Registration fee of $50.00 is due upon notice of enrollment in the training.  Upon successful completion of the training (within six months) a stipend of $490.00 will be used to cover the remaining cost of the training.
