Health Information Technology

Health Information Technology (HIT) Program deals with the business side of healthcare. In this program students will learn:

  • Medical record management
  • Privacy of health information
  • Billing and coding in major health care settings
  • Electronic health record conversions
  • And, many other areas of practice

HIT graduates can work in ALL healthcare settings, not just physician offices.

The national average salary is between $47,000 - $49,000, as reported by the 2012 AHIMA Salary Survey.

Accreditation:

The HIT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Graduates of the program are eligible to take the American Health Information Management Association's (AHIMA) Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) examination.
