JCTC offers open house to ITT Tech Students

Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) will offer a special open house specifically tailored for displaced ITT Technical Institute students. The Open House will be held on Thurs., Sept. 15 from 4:30 8 p.m. on the college s Downtown Campus in Health Science Hall, 110 W. Chestnut, Louisville, KY.

Several college representatives and resources will be available to help affected students continue their education. Prospective students will be able to talk one-on-one with an advisor, admissions staff and financial aid and faculty representatives. The college can also assist with loan discharge paperwork. JCTC has eight-weeks classes starting in Oct. and self-paced online options available for students to enroll.

If possible, ITT students should bring their transcripts or grade reports and any industry certifications, which could allow them to earn credit for past experiences and credentials.

To attend the Open House, affected students can RSVP. Additionally, they can start the admissions process now by filling out the college s free application.

JCTC strives to make this transition easy for students, said Dr. Ty Handy, president of JCTC. We offer similar programs in the fields of computer information technology, business administration, healthcare and criminal justice, all at our affordable tuition rate that is much lower than what was charged at ITT.

The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and credits are 100% transferable into bachelor degree programs. JCTC has 70 different majors and over 300 program options.

Students with questions about the open house can call 502-213-2123 or e-mail jf-studentsupport@kctcs.edu.
