The Grainger Foundation Supports Jefferson Community and Technical College

Carrollton, KY (May 7, 2010) - The Grainger Foundation, Lake Forest, Illinois, has donated $10,000 to Jefferson Community and Technical College Carrollton (JCTC) Campus in support of its mission to provide open access to affordable, quality education and training for a diverse community of students.

Susan Carlisle, Campus Director, accepted the check on behalf of Jefferson Community and Technical College today on the JCTC campus as part of a formal check presentation.

This grant will help enrich our students learning by equipping a new building on campus with computer desks and lab equipment, said Tony Newberry, Ph.D., president of JCTC. We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.

This donation was recommended by Jane Wieland, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.'s Florence location. Grainger has been a part of the Northern Kentucky business community for more than 50 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. We are proud to support Jefferson Community and Technical College, said Wieland. We understand the need for quality technical education programs in the local community.

JCTC, based in Louisville, is the largest of 16 colleges forming the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The college has three campuses in Jefferson County and one each in Carroll, Bullitt and Shelby counties. It enrolls 15,000 students on campus and in on line programs and works with more than 500 companies a year to provide customized workforce training and education programs.
