Students invited to study Spanish in Ecuador with JCTC

Following the success of the 2010 program, students once again are invited to study Spanish in Banos, Ecuador, mid-May through mid-June.

Three Spanish courses and a cultural studies course are part of the four-week experience, which includes a seven-day service learning experience in the Amazon. Students will study the language and have extensive opportunities to interact with Banos residents and participate in cultural activities.

Students may earn six to seven credit hours though the following JCTC courses: Spanish 102, Spanish 201, Spanish 202 and the cultural studies course, Spanish 115.

The program, led by JCTC instructors, is open to JCTC students as well members of the community and students at other colleges. Credits apply to JCTC programs and transfer to other colleges and universities.

In addition to tuition, the immersion program costs $1,750, including airfare and lodging. JCTC tuition is $130 per credit hour for in-state students. All JCTC courses are eligible for financial aid.
