Men Achieving Excellence
Men Achieving Excellence (MAX) at Jefferson County and Technical College is a program
that is dedicated to championing the success of Black male students. Our core mission
is to empower and uplift Black male students at JCTC by providing a wide range of
support services that encompass academic, personal, and professional growth. MAX takes
a holistic approach to ensure student success, offering an array of resources such
as educational programs, mentorship opportunities, networking events, assistance with
non-academic barriers, and cultivating a strong sense of brotherhood among peers.
Students will be supported through:
- Mentorships via Jefferson/MAX staff, community members, and peers
- Monthly student success coaching and meetings with staff to ensure academic success
- Service-learning opportunities
- Enrichment activities
- Educational and health & wellness programming and events
- Forming lasting connections with peers, faculty, and staff
