Supplier Diversity Policy and Action Plan

The Supplier Diversity Initiative was implemented to ensure that all vendors have better access to and knowledge of the College's procurement system.

This initiative supports the KCTCS commitment to diversity being applied to purchasing decisions with the objective of achieving and fostering greater Minority-owned business, Women-owned business, Small disadvantaged business, Veteran-owned business, Disabled and Others, as defined by the Small Business Administration participation. It is our belief that inclusion of these businesses in the economic mainstream improves the economic stability and vitality of our community, Commonwealth and nation.

We seek to work with and communicate to the delegated purchasing community on a continuing basis. Emphasis is placed on the importance of diversity in procurement while seeking cost savings, without sacrificing quality or conformity to specifications of need.

It is our intent to form a network with vendors, certifying agencies and our continuing education resources to build strong community relationships. In doing so, we will help ensure the future of small business in Kentucky while keeping revenue in our city and Commonwealth.
