What is a Community & Technical College?

A community and technical college lets you earn the first two years of a four-year college degree, or it prepares you for a specific career and employment.

A community and technical college offers a supportive environment, while still challenging students academically as universities do.

SMALL CLASSES, PERSONAL ATTENTION:

Jefferson is dedicated to teaching and learning. Students often benefit from the smaller classes and working with a professor who knows them by name. Most classes have an enrollment limit of 25 students.

AFFORDABILITY AND VALUE:

We strive to keep tuition as low as possible while keeping the quality of the programs and instruction high, making Jefferson a great educational value. We have the lowest tuition rates in the Louisville area!

TRANSFER:

Earn your two-year degree (associate degree) and transfer to a four-year program. Studies show that students who transfer with an associate degree often graduate faster and with better grades than students who start in four-year programs.

SHORT-TERM PROGRAMS:

Students can graduate from college and begin working much sooner than in a four-year program. Plus, programs lead to jobs in rewarding, in-demand fields.
