Transfer Information

Students who already have F-1 visas, are in the U.S. and wish to transfer to Jefferson, must follow the same admissions procedures as all other F-1 applicants. 

Additionally, transfer students must also:

  • Complete the Transfer Report form, then give to your current Designated School Office to sign as well, 
  • submit a copy of your current I-20,
  • submit a copy of your F-1 visa,
  • submit a copy of your I-94 card and
  • submit a copy of the biographical page of your passport

For a transfer student who already has F-1 status and is applying to Jefferson Community and Technical College while in the U.S., the deadlines are as follows:

  • Official in progress transcripts from current domestic college
    • This must be sent directly to Jefferson electronically through National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, or directly to us by mail from your current institution to the following address:
      • Jefferson Community & Technical College
        ATTN: Admissions Department
        109 E. Broadway
        Louisville, KY 40202
    • Students actively enrolled in another college or university in the semester immediately prior to their intended term of enrollment at Jefferson may submit transcripts that are “in progress” to enroll in courses. These must still be official copies delivered through one of the approved means above. Once final grades have been posted and official transcripts are available from the previous institution, they must be submitted before the end of the student's first semester at Jefferson.
  • Official/final transcripts from any other domestic college if attended.
    • All official transcripts must be submitted prior to the first semester.
  • A course-by-course evaluation of all international college transcripts performed by a NACES approved transcript evaluation service.
    • Students are responsible for the cost of the evaluation.
    • Acceptable agencies who conduct international transcript evaluation services are listed as members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
    • The most common companies used by Jefferson students are World Education Services and Educational Credential Evaluators.
    • The official evaluation must be received prior to the first semester of attendance.
