The Fillies, Inc.

The Fillies, Inc. is pleased to inform academic community about the 2014 Kentucky Derby Festival Royal Court.

Each spring the Fillies, Inc. sponsors the Kentucky Derby Festival Queen and Court. Five young women are selected to serve as representatives of one of the largest and most prestigious civic celebrations in the United States.

This is a scholarship program and an experience of a lifetime. The Fillies Inc. seeks intelligent, civic-minded women who are motivated, poised, and enthusiastic.

Each princess receives an academic scholarship in the amount of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2000.00) and a wardrobe worn during her reign.

As an ambassador for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Kentucky Derby Festival, the princesses will meet state and local dignitaries, celebrities, and the diverse population that celebrates this international festival.

Candidates Qualifications:

• She must be a single female, resident of the Commonwealth of Kentucky or the Louisville Metropolitan area. Floyd, Clark, and Harrison counties of Indiana. A voter registration card or driver s license is required for proof of residency.
• She must be a full-time student attending a University, College, or accredited professional school.
• She must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, transcript required.
• She must be at least 18 years of age on or before December 31, 2013.

Good academic standing is imperative, as the young women must be excused from classes for approximately 14 days during the festival.
