Stewardship
Investments in Jefferson have made a significant different for students, both in their ability to cover the costs of tuition and books but also in the access students have to programs, technology and support.
Rotary Club of Louisville
The Rotary Club of Louisville provides $250,000 to fund an endowed scholarship at Jefferson Community & Technical College. The scholarship effort is an ambitious program to provide two-year college scholarships to all qualifying students at at-risk Louisville area high schools. The program launched with the 2012 freshmen class at Western High School. Fund-raising continues with the goal of placing the Rotary Promise Scholars program in four area high schools.
Carrollton Land Acquisition
North American Stainless, Carroll County Fiscal Court and the Carroll County Education Foundation, recognizing the critical need for a modern dedicated college campus in Carroll County, each donated $100,000 to fund the purchase of 30-acres of land in Carroll County, across from General Butler State Park. Once the building is funded, the land will be home to the state-of-the-art Carrollton Campus.
W.W. Grainger Foundation
W.W. Grainger Inc., North America s leading broad-line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products, understand first-hand the need to ensure a strong well-prepared workforce. Grainger s offices in Louisville and Northern Kentucky have taped the company s charitable arm, the W.W. Grainger Foundation, to award $87,000 to JCTC since 2008 for technical program equipment, library upgrades and scholarships. Additionally, the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship is made available to two JCTC students annually. This scholarship provides $2,000 in tuition and a customized too set.
Jefferson Jubilee
In only three years, the Jefferson Jubilee has raised $160,000 for student scholarships. Students say in the most cases that the scholarship they received was the difference between returning to the college and being force to drop out. Jefferson Jubilee has been made possible by generous sponsors including IBM, Cisco, OfficeMax, Norton Healthcare, Republic Bank, Xerox, BB&T, LabCorp, Elmcroft Senior Living, IVS, Masonic Homes of Kentucky, Publishers Printing Company, UPS and many others.
