Student Services Operations and Resources

Jefferson Community and Technical College is committed to providing quality services to students during this time of on-line learning and social distance.  While in-person services have been temporarily suspended, our staff is working and ready to help. Louisville Area YMCA (FREE) (3Cs vouchers welcomed)

Participating locations include:

**Beginning Aug 24, 2020**

YMCA staff members will help kids with logging in to their schoolwork and video conference calls as well as assisting with the material when possible. Staff will also be providing downtime for kids to play.


Camp J 356 Survey

With the announcement of JCPS beginning the school year with virtual learning, Camp J is planning to extend as Camp J 365 to accommodate the need for full day childcare and support for students. We are currently working on a program for kids in Grades K-5 and we are also looking into the possibility of expanding to 6-8th graders based on interest. You bring the online learning and device; we bring the fun! Importantly, our program will ensure social distancing and we will continue our frequent sanitizing schedule on top of adhering to CDC guidance.


NTI from the Frazier

Dates: August 31, 2020 – October 2, 2020
Grades: 2-9
Cost (per Week): $200 members / $225 non-members

PLEASE NOTE: After Thursday at 9:30 am you must email to inquire about available spots in the next weeks.

The Frazier will be providing daily care in a sanitary, professionally staffed environment from 9 am - 4 pm during the week for small groups of students in second through ninth grades. Frazier educators will be on hand to help answer questions, assist with technology, make sure that each student has a successful NTI experience, and most of all, facilitate fun in a familiar environment with breaks and end-of-day activities in our galleries!

Please note: Students must bring their own mask, laptop or other device, headphones with microphone, school supplies, lunch, and a selection of additional activities to enjoy quietly during moments of down time.

Families of Louisville KY (FREE)

We have all been anxiously waiting to find out what the school districts would decide for the 2021-22 school year. Many schools have decided to start virtually or with Non-Traditional Instruction and many have also decided to push back start dates as well. Which makes things challenging for many families. This list of resources, childcare and camps will be continually updated as more information and more options becomes available:

The Kentucky Science Center is offering School's Out Camp for ages 4 and up Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Kentucky Science Center has continued to provide a healthy and safe environment for all campers and families, with wellness screenings, social distancing measures, limited class sizes, disinfection and sanitation protocols for the staff and facility. Currently The Kentucky Science Center is offering week long camps until August 7th and day camps starting August 10th. NTI camp will be announced soon. Hwang's Martial Arts (FREE)

With both JCPS and Oldham county now offering NTI and E-learning, let Hwangs Martial Arts provide a lending hand. We are proud to announce that Hwangs Martial Arts will be offering a safe and reliable option that will both allow  your children to progress and learn the necessary school material while  at the same time providing all day camp, physical activity and fun. Our all day school camp will provide supervised eLearning, physical activities, and child care. With drop off available as early as 7:30 am and pick up as late as 6pm, this will allow parents to focus on work without worrying about interruptions! Spots are limited at our 3 locations and filling up fast.

Kentucky Gymnastics Academy

Kentucky Gymnastics Academy is offering 1/2 day and full day NTI work sessions for Kindergarten through 12th grade. You can choose anywhere from 1 day a week up to 5 days a week. The half day program runs from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, the full day program runs from 8:00 am - 2:30 pm with the additional option to stay and play. All about kids CAMP-A-BUNGA NTI Support 6-week session

Day camp PLUS NTI supports grades 1-5.

Gym Time/ Louisville Cheer & Dance

Gym Time will help student with NTI assignments in our Hybrid/ tumbling classes 8am-5pm begging August 25, 2020 

$50 or $210 a week (20% discount on your second child, 50% on your third) 

**Open to ALL students enrolled in K-12 programs**

Forest Learning LAB

Forest Learning Lab offers students a structured day of non-traditional instruction, homework help, and outdoor exploration time. Classes are held almost entirely outdoors each day to provide a safe, engaging environment for your child to thrive during NTI. To best accommodate educational needs, Forest Learning Lab groups are limited to 1st-3rd grade students and 4th-6th grade students.

Forest Learning Lab sessions are offered weekly from August 25 through October 16. To make NTI as flexible as possible, parents can enroll kids in a full week or select single days that best fit their schedule. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, extra safety procedures will be in place and group size is extremely limited.

PRICING: $285/week for Parklands Members and $300/week for non-members OR $60/day for Parklands Members and $65/day for non-members.

Best in class Louisville Southeast

Intensify Your NTI program Best in Class Louisville SE to provide a place and time for kids to work on their NTI with a tutor available for guidance.  Plans are underway but tentatively 2-3 hr sessions, 1-5 times a week (not sure if morning or afternoon yet) with interactive instruction, Wi-Fi, and printing available.  Kids would bring their devices or provide logins to print their physical work. It will be a drop off program so parents do not have to stay. Limit of 10 students.

Cabbage Patch House

Cabbage Patch will open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and help children through their NTI 2.0 coursework. There, they will work in small groups on Google Chromebooks provided by the non-profit and can ask staff for help if they need it. Visit the Cabbage Patch House website

Wi-Fi is available in the Downtown Campus student parking lot.  Access points have been installed at each light pole.  At the Tech Campus access is available in the lots at B building – not A building.  A solution is being worked on for Southwest.
