What Is Licensed Practical Nurses Summer Bridge?
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) currently practicing and licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, have two options available for advanced placement into the Jefferson Community and Technical College nursing program: Through the LPN-RN Summer Bridge course or Articulation into the second semester of nursing.
LPNs must meet the same admission standards as all applicants to the nursing program, with the exception that their LPN License is accepted in lieu of the State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) certification. Selection of applicants is based on highest pre/co-requisite GPA. LPN s who graduated more than 3 years prior to application must completed Verification of Employment in direct patient care for at least one year in the past three years prior to June 1 of the summer semester.
