Book adoption policy
The Jefferson Community and Technical College bookstores are contracted with Barnes & Noble, and policies are designed to comply with this contract and fair competition laws. Key procedures include:
- Faculty are notified via email when book adoptions are due.
- Adoptions can be emailed to both the Assistant & Store Manager or submitted online
via the Book Adoption Portal in MyPath under Discover More.
- If you need assistance with submitting your adoption online through our portal, please reach out to us.
- A submission must be submitted for each class, section, and site, even if no textbooks are required.
- Approximate due dates for book orders are:
- March 15: Intersession/Summer classes
- April 15: Fall classes
- October 15: Spring classes
- Contact the bookstore for assistance if deadlines cannot be met.
- Deadlines ensure books are ordered promptly, and used copies are sourced to save students money.
- Faculty must use the most current textbook edition to provide our students with the best service and value.
- Required texts are adopted for two years unless the Academic Dean approves changes.
Strict adherence to these procedures ensures compliance with contracts and laws, as copyright laws must be followed to protect the college as well as any faculty members.
If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the bookstore! Thank you!
