
Jefferson honors new members at Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony

The Alpha Delta Theta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society welcomed its newest class of members during an induction ceremony on November 13. Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society for two-year colleges, celebrating students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom while exemplifying integrity, scholarship, and community engagement. The Alpha Delta Theta chapter represents students from Jefferson's Downtown Campus.
During the ceremony, Dr. Laura Smith, vice president of student affairs, congratulated the inductees and encouraged them to continue t their talents to uplift both the college and the community.
PTK Chapter President Chelse Smitson also welcomed the new members, reminding them to take advantage of the opportunities PTK provides.
The ceremony included the traditional candle-lighting, induction pledge, and recognition of each new member by name.
