Jefferson Receives $850,000 Federal Grant to Fuel Jefferson Rising

Congressman Morgan McGarvey joined Jefferson President Ty Handy on April 1 to announce an $850,000 federal grant supporting the College's Jefferson Rising project.
The funding is part of more than $12 million McGarvey recently secured for local community projects across the region.
At Jefferson, the grant will support improvements tied to Jefferson Rising, a multi-year effort to transform and modernize the Downtown Campus. Specifically, the funding will support the replacement of a former surface parking lot with a new parking garage designed to improve accessibility and better serve commuting students.
The new 500-plus space garage enhances access to campus resources and helps ensure students can continue pursuing their educational goals with greater ease and convenience.
