JCTC student interning with Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting
While most Jefferson Community and Technical College students are back in classes, sophomore Seiler Smith has started an important internship at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is an independent news media organization that reports on global issues that other media outlets are unable to undertake on their own.
Smith joins interns from The University of Chicago, George Washington University, the University of Maryland, Princeton University and Arizona State University.
I am currently researching all the projects that the Pulitzer Center journalist are working on said Smith about his internship. I am also going to be helping with creating educational lessons that university professors and high school teachers can use for teaching students about current events in various cities.
Smith is a political science major and is interested in political revolutions, urban politics, and the politics of rapidly developing nations.
Seiler is an incredible student and human being who takes the initiative to pursue academic opportunities to open doors to his future said his Introduction to Philosophy Professor, Dr. Wes Lites.
Seiler hopes to be an international human rights journalist. He has previously interned at Insider Louisville, contributed to The Louisville Cardinal and covered stories surrounding Louisville's homeless population in Our Paper, Louisville.
