Two CAT students win Silver at District ADDY Awards

After sweeping the local American Advertising or ADDY Awards, two Communication Arts Technology students both received Silver at the district level.

Advertising Design major, Logan Selby won a Silver ADDY for his Barbed Wire Whiskey package design. And Commercial Photography student, Lisa Mercer won a Silver ADDY for her photography entry, Newport Aquarium.

Competition is very tough at the district level said Terry Lutz, program coordinator for the Communication Arts Technology Program. Students are competing with colleges from Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky, so when you win an award you have accomplished something pretty special.

Both entries are now eligible to compete at the national competition in May.

Not many students get to compete at the national level. It s a thrill for students and exciting for the entire program said Lutz.

This is the seventh time that CAT program will compete at the national level of the American Advertising Awards.
