Communication Arts Students Win 20 Advertising Awards

Jefferson took home more honors than any other school for the seventh straight year.

Jefferson Students Rack Up 20 Honors at American Advertising Awards

Communication Arts Technology (CAT) at Jefferson Community & Technical College is widely known as one of the premier programs of its kind in the region, and, once again, it has the hardware to back it up. Ten CAT students took home 20 awards at the First Annual ADDY Awards (formerly the Louies) in Louisville. Jefferson took more honors than any school in the competition for the seventh straight year.

Here is the breakdown of a memorable night for our students:

Jesenia Avila-Ugalde won the top award, the Gold Judges’ Choice Award, for her outstanding photograph Mantastic. She also claimed a Silver ADDY for her Hen House Restaurant Manual and another Silver Addy for her photograph Grandma’s Bourbon.

Stephen Koller also won the top award and a Silver ADDY. Stephen won a Silver ADDY for his i-Luminati Point of Purchase (P.O.P.) Display. He also won a Gold ADDY for his i-Luminati Packaging design.

Frida Gonzalez was awarded two Gold ADDY's and three Silver ADDY's. She won a Gold ADDY for her Forrest & Hale Bourbon Logo and a Gold ADDY for her Forrest & Hale Bourbon Stationery. Frida won Silver ADDY's for her Forrest & Hale Bourbon Ad Campaign, her Dia de Los Muertos Photograph and her awe-inspiring Dia de Los Muertos Halloween Poster.

Leslie Mosher and Nico Botones each won a Gold ADDY; Leslie won for her beautiful photograph, Blue Angel, and Nico for his fabulous Self-Promotion Brochure. Nico also won a Silver ADDY for his Avida Industries Brand Guide.

Alicia Vessels won a Silver ADDY for her Good Girl Moonshine Package design.

DJ Stickler won a Silver ADDY for his outstanding Stonefly Designs Branding Guide.

Angelica Eichelhardt won two Silver ADDYs, one for Rolling Pin Bakery Logo and one for her Rolling Pin Bakery Branding Guide.

Hailey Stanford and Sara Klapheke each won a Silver ADDY during the presentation; Hailey won for her impressive self-portrait illustration, Drawn to Life, and Sara for her amazing Maker’s Mark Whiskey photograph.
