Brand Identity & Visual Standards
College Logos
An official logo should be used on all college marketing advertising, communications, visual presentations, and other materials that represent the college to external audiences.
The Sunrise in Kentucky logo reflects our promise of a Better Life. The 16 rays of the sun represent each of our 16 colleges and the sun itself means hope and opportunity to our students and communities. The state image demonstrates the power and unity of the system.
The logo consists of two elements. The state icon (including the sun) and the name of the college.
Color Palette and Patterns
KCTCS Blue and KCTCS Gold are the colors identified with our system. Blue is the color of wisdom and integrity. Gold is the color of happiness. Together they create a feeling of hope and lend themselves to dynamic design.
Fonts
The typography you choose assists in communicating our brand identity. These fonts were chosen for their expression of our brand characteristics; they are encouraging, hopeful and accessible.

The seal is reserved for use on official and ceremonial college documents, such as diplomas. It is not required or appropriate to use as a logo or on marketing materials, signage or publications.
The columns in the seal represent our colleges’ two branches: community colleges and technical schools. The gear represents the technical component, and the book represents the academic component.
The seal is built using PMS 541 (blue) and PMS 131 (yellow). A one-color version is also approved.
The Jefferson seal is a restricted use please email jf-media@kctcs.edu to request.
Workforce Solutions
The Workforce Solutions logo should be prominently placed on all Workforce Solutions documents, business materials and advertisements typically within the System Arch. We recommend using the color execution whenever possible.
