Allied Health Pre-Admissions Conferences

Health Information Technology

Applicants must attend a pre-admission conference with the program faculty. During the conference, you will receive the program application and additional information regarding the HIT program. If you have only attended a KCTCS college, photocopies of your transcripts are able to be accessed electronically. If you have attended an outside college/university please have copies of all your transcripts available for the meeting.

An in-person only pre-admission conference meeting will be held on April 15, 2024 at 9:00am in Health Sciences Hall, Room 371. Please email Kristi Couch or email Felicia Miles-Collier with any questions.

All other pre-admission conference meetings will be held virtually and scheduled one-on-one with each student. Email Felicia Miles-Collier for the meeting link.

 

Medical Assisting

All meetings will be held on the Downtown Campus in the Health Science Hall building (HSH), Room 378.

All pre-admission packets must be submitted by  Friday, May 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm for consideration for the class starting Fall 2023. The Selective Committee Meeting is scheduled:  May 12, 2023.
If you are interested in beginning the program and have missed these deadlines, please contact program coordinator Michelle Butler. If all seats are not filled at that time, you may still be allowed to apply and enter.

Medical Laboratory Technician

You must attend a pre-admission conference in order to apply to the program. Please contact the program coordinator if there is a conflict.

These will be held on the Downtown Campus in the Health Science Hall, Room 360.

Paramedic Technology

For general information and to apply to the Paramedic Technology program, you should attend one of the pre-admission conferences. At these sessions, you will obtain information concerning prerequisite courses and other program requirements. Prospective students who expect to complete EMT certification training before the spring semester of 2019 are encouraged to attend.

The Jefferson Community and Technical College Paramedic program is located at the Downtown Campus, Chestnut Hall, 110 West Chestnut Street, Room B26.

Physical Therapist Assistant

The PTA Program utilizes a selective admission process for enrollment, which means there are specific qualifications and requirements that must be met before a student may enroll in physical therapy courses. Students interested in applying for the PTA Program must first attend a preadmission information session. Conferences will be held online in a Microsoft Teams Meeting and in person on the downtown campus to discuss all steps involved in the application process and allow students access to the online application form.  Please register to attend the conference date and format of your choice using the PTA Pre-Admission Conference form.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program application materials are only available to students who attend a preadmission conference. No access to applications will be granted after the last conference is held in March. All applications must be completed and submitted by April 1 to be considered for Fall enrollment.

Radiography

You must attend a pre-admission conference in order to apply to the program. You do not need to make an appointment to attend a conference. If you are unable to attend one of these conferences, please contact the program faculty before the May 15 deadline to apply.

All conferences will be held in-person in the Health Science Hall, Room B25.

Respiratory Care

Surgical Technology

All meetings will be held on the Downtown campus in the Health Science Hall building (HSH), Room 269 at 9:00 am.

Dates for pre-admission Conferences can change based on scheduling conflicts, weather, and/or institutional closings. Please check the website often for updates. It is highly recommended you confirm the meeting date you plan to attend with the program director via email. Pre-admission conferences are available for anyone interested in the program; there are no requirements to attend a conference. It is also recommended any student interested in the program bring an unofficial copy of their current transcripts for reference.
