Explore global interconnections in economics, politics, science, societies, and cultures to engage with the world.
What is Global Studies?
The Global Studies Certificate at Jefferson Community and Technical College helps students learn about the world. It teaches them important things about different cultures and how they connect. The goal is to make students ready to work and live in a world with many different kinds of people.
The program focuses on things like history, knowing what's happening in the world now, and understanding different global issues like money, politics, environment, and cultures. It also helps students become aware of their own biases and learn another language besides English. Students can pick from lots of classes in areas like Social Studies, Science, History, Arts, and Languages that are taught by experienced teachers. The idea is to give students a good understanding of the world we live in.
