Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR)
Welcome!
We're excited to have you here at Jefferson Community & Technical College.
Online Orientation gives you important information about the campus resources, programs, and services to support your success. Completing orientation is required before your classes begin your first semester.
Step 1: Create Your Username and Password
If you have difficulties setting up your user account, please contact our 24/7 Student Service Center by calling (855) 246-5282 or online at JCTC.ME/ServiceCenter.
If you are a visiting student at Jefferson, start at the Visiting Student page.
Step 2: Complete Online Orientation
If you have difficulties accessing orientation, contact the orientation office at jf-orientation@kctcs.edu.
If you have already registered for classes, congratulations, you have completed all the admissions steps! Please make sure you have payment information or financing arranged by the payment deadline.
If you have not already registered for classes, once you complete the online orientation, you may be ready to register for classes!
BEFORE signing up for advising, check to see if you need to complete any of the tasks below:
- Send us your transcript.
- Turn in your high school or GED transcript.
- JCPS graduates can order a transcript directly from JCPS.
- Send us your test scores.
- Send us your test scores (like ACT or KYOTE) or sign up for placement testing.
- Apply for Financial Aid.
- File your FAFSA.
- Need help filing your FAFSA?
- Don't forget to apply for scholarships!
- Create your user account.
- Complete your student financial agreement under the "Tasks" tab in your Student Self-Service Account.
Registration and Advising
If you have completed all of the steps above, you're ready to meet with our knowledgeable Advising Center team to register for courses! We have options for in-person visits at each of our campuses and virtual options for those that can't make it to campus. Follow the link below to find the schedules!
