What is Medicaid Nurse Aide?

A Medicaid Nurse Aide provides direct care for patients in multiple settings under the direction of a LPN or RN. Roles include providing for hygiene, comfort, exercise, safety, emotional support and observing and reporting patient/client conditions.

What are my degree, diploma, and certificate options?

Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification State Testing (KNAT)

To be listed on the State Nurse Aide Registry, a student must take the state written examination and skill competency evaluation upon successfully completing a nurse aide course.

Students are eligible to take the state certification exam for one year from the date they completed their training.

How Do I Apply?

  • If you are not a current student, then you will need to enroll in the college.
  • If you are a current student, then you can enroll by signing into your student-service online account.
  • Once enrolled in HST 104, students will receive an email about requirements that must be complete by the clinical portion of the class.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

Length of Program

Students can earn a Medicaid Nurse Aide certificate in one semester.
