Arrival Information
When traveling to the U.S., be sure to carry your I-20 and financial support documents with your passport. Do not pack these items in your luggage. You will need these things at the port of entry in the U.S.
When you arrive in the U.S., Customs and Border Patrol will record your arrival information, referred to as the I-94 Arrival/Departure record. It may be a paper card or it may be recorded electronically. You should have access to the electronic record through the USCIS website. This I-94 record is used to keep track of when you enter the U.S., to define how long you are allowed to stay in the U.S., and to report your departure from the States.
After arriving in Kentucky, you must report to the International Admissions Office at Jefferson as soon as practical. The International Admissions Office will want to photocopy your F-1 visa and see your I-94 Arrival/Departure record. At that time you will also be given information about the New F-1 Student Orientation and registering for classes.
Payment is due by the first day of class, so please plan ahead in transferring money to the U.S.
