What is Education?
Welcome to the Education Department at Jefferson Community and Technical College. The Educator preparation program is a pathway designed for students who wish to begin coursework at a community and technical college and then apply for transfer admission to a teacher education program at a four-year college or university. The Education courses fulfill requirements for an Associate of Applied Science degree. Currently, the Education Department offers online courses that consist of the following:

What are my career options?
The Education Program is designed to prepare educators for employment in Kentucky classrooms. The Associate in Applied Science Degree offers two options: one for paraeducators wishing only for a two-year degree and another for those wishing to enter a university teacher education program.
The Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Education, Teacher Preparation, is an option for students who wish to begin coursework and then apply for transfer to a teacher education program at a four-year college or university.

Length of Program
You can earn an associate in applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
