Transfer Enrollment
How to Enroll
Note: If you are looking for general enrollment instructions rather than transfer instructions, see our advising center page.
There are five basic steps to transfer enrollment. Just follow these steps.
Decide what career or job you want and determine what education or degrees you will need to get there.
Consult with an advisor and/or a transfer partner to choose the degree* at Jefferson that will best prepare you for transfer and your end goal.
*Some of our programs are selective admission. These programs require additional application processes for admission. For these programs, you will not be able to select the program as your degree until you are accepted into the program. You will generally select Associate of Arts as your major until you are accepted. If you are planning to apply to a selective admission program, be sure you read the requirements carefully.
See which classes your Jefferson degree requires by running a degree audit. Also, talk to a transfer partner about which classes you should take at Jefferson to prepare for your transfer degree.
FYE 105 or FYE 100 - Your transfer experience may make you exempt from this class if you've already completed a degree, already completed a certain number of college classes, or already taken an equivalent class. Check with an advisor if you have questions.
RDG 30 - If you’ve previously attended a selective admission college or already taken a certain number of college classes, you may be exempt from this class. You can also test out of this class. Check with an advisor if you have questions.
ENG 101 & 102 or ENG 105 – If you’ve previously completed an equivalent class at a previous college or met this requirement by test credit (eg. AP or CLEP), you do not need to take this class again.
If you’ve previously taken an equivalent class at a previous college or met this requirement
by test credit (eg. CLEP), you do not need to take this class again. Note, though,
that there are different math classes required for different degrees.
Meet with an advisor or self-enroll.
