Visiting Students

YOU CAN BE IN TWO PLACES AT ONCE

Want to take a class or two at Jefferson while you're enrolled at another college? Here's how to apply for admission.

We welcome visiting students from other colleges who want to round out their studies with classes at Jefferson. If you're not currently enrolled in another school, apply as a first-time freshman or transfer student.

How to Apply & Complete your Admissions File

It's easy to apply to Jefferson as a visiting student, and we're here to help. Just follow these four steps:

  1. Submit the Application for Admission. It's free, and it takes about 15 minutes to complete.
  2. Submit a Letter of Good Standing or an Official Transcript. This helps us determine which classes you should take at Jefferson. The registrar's office at your current college will assist you.
    • Visiting student letters may still be submitted via email, but can only be accepted in the following formats:
      • Sent directly from a school official with a verifiable organization email and signature (should be in the official format of a form or letter sent from the registrar, individual advisors sending an email will not be accepted). These can be emailed to jefferson-admissions@kctcs.edu.
      • Sent by the student as a PDF of a completed and signed form confirming good standing from a school official. Students must send the front and back of an official government issued photo ID and cannot forward an email from a school official without a PDF.
    • Official college transcripts may be accepted in the following formats:
      • Mailed directly from the previous college to mailing address below:
        Jefferson Community & Technical College
        ATTN: Admissions
        109 E. Broadway
        Louisville, KY 40202
      • Submitted electronically (faxes and email attachments are not accepted) through a secure, password-protected site (i.e. National Student Clearinghouse, E-Scrip, Parchment, or Credential Solutions)
      • Hand-delivered in the original, signed and sealed envelope. Please note: print date must be within the last 6 months (if opened by the student, the transcript is unofficial).
  3. Explore financial aid. Visiting students are eligible for Financial Aid by completing a Consortium Agreement. Please contact the financial aid office at your home college to complete the request.
