Want to take a class or two at Jefferson while you're enrolled at another college? Here's how to apply for admission.
We welcome visiting students from other colleges who want to round out their studies with classes at Jefferson. If you're not currently enrolled in another school, apply as a first-time freshman or transfer student.
How to Apply & Complete your Admissions File
It's easy to apply to Jefferson as a visiting student, and we're here to help. Just follow these three steps:
It's free, and it takes about 15 minutes to complete.
This helps us determine which classes you should take at Jefferson. The registrar's office at your current college will assist you. You will need to send an updated letter OR official in-progress transcript each semester that you plan to attend in visiting status.
Letters of Good Standing may be submitted via email, but can only be accepted in the following format:
- Sent directly from the home college registrar with a verifiable organization email and signature (should be in the official format of a form or letter sent from the registrar, emails from individual advisors will not be accepted). These can be emailed to jefferson-admissions@kctcs.edu.
Please note: The letter must include your current academic standing.
Official in-progress college transcripts may be accepted in the following formats:
- Submitted electronically (faxes and email attachments are not accepted) through a secure, password-protected site (i.e. National Student Clearinghouse , Parchment, E-Scrip, or Credential Solutions)
- Mailed directly from the home college to mailing address below:

- Hand-delivered in the original, signed and sealed envelope, with a print date within the last 6 months (if opened by the student, the transcript is unofficial).

Set up your KCTCS User Account.
To get started, you'll need:
- Your student ID number (sent in your initial application confirmation email)
- A phone number or email address you can receive messages on for your security code

Visiting students are eligible for Financial Aid by completing a Consortium Agreement. Please contact the financial aid office at your home college to complete the request.
