How to Apply & Complete your Admissions File
Our online application is free, and it only takes about 15 minutes to complete.

To get started, you'll need:
- An email address that we can use to contact you.
- Name and address of the high school and colleges you have attended.
If we do not already have your educational records on file, we may require official transcripts before you are ready to enroll.
If a final high school transcript is required to complete your file, you can find submission guidelines below:
Official high school transcripts with graduation date listed may be accepted in the following formats:
- Submitted electronically (faxes and email attachments are not accepted) through a
secure, password-protected site (i.e. Scribbles, Parchment or Scoir).
- If you are a graduate of Jefferson County Public Schools, the document should be ordered through Scribbles after graduation.
- Hand-delivered in the original, unopened signed and sealed envelope with an official government issued photo ID.
- Mailed directly from the school to Jefferson in a stamped and sealed envelope to mailing
address below:

Home school documents must be notarized and are accepted in their original format in person with a government issued photo ID OR by mail with a copy of the front and back of a valid government issued photo ID included to the address below:

If you attended a school with a primary language other than English, we require an official translated and notarized copy of the transcript as well as the original document.
If you choose to translate through a NACES approved organization, no notarization will be needed. Translated and notarized transcripts may be accepted in the following formats:
- Mailed directly from the to Jefferson with a copy of the front and back of a valid government issued photo ID to mailing address below:

a valid government issued photo ID).
- If the translation was completed by a NACES approved evaluation agency, the document must be delivered in an unopened envelope or mailed directly from the organization to Jefferson to the mailing address above.
If from a school with English as the primary language, we require a copy of the final transcript with graduation date and may be accepted in the following formats:
- Mailed directly from the to Jefferson with a copy of the front and back of a valid government issued photo ID to mailing address above.
- Hand-delivered with an official government issued photo ID.
- Via email to jefferson-admissions@kctcs.edu with a copy of the front and back of a
valid government issued photo ID and student ID number.
This is the only type of transcript document that is accepted via email from a student.
If you are unable to obtain your transcript from your international school, please contact the Admissions Office to determine if you are eligible for an international transcript waiver.

You can order your transcripts online or ask your college’s records office to send them to us. They can be sent in the following formats:

Refer to your school's website for information on how to request a transcript.
We will need a course-by-course (line-by-line) transcript evaluation from a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member. Please have your evaluation completed by one of the agencies listed on this website.

- Hand-deliver to any of our campuses in a signed and sealed envelope from the school(s).
Based on your educational records, we may need to determine college reading readiness to place you in courses. We will notify you via email if testing is required.
Official test scores received within the last four years may be accepted in the following formats:
- ACT/KYOTE/SAT listed on an officially submitted high school transcript (see above
for submission guidelines).
- If a high school transcript is submitted with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.2 or higher, the testing requirement may be waived for some subjects.
- ACT scores may be submitted online through ACT.
- SAT scores may be submitted online through SAT College Board.
- KY GED scores may be accepted for reading placement purposes, and must be submitted online through GED Testing Service.
- Please note only Kentucky GED scores received in the last 4 years with a RTLA score of 165 may be utilized for reading test requirement. Scores should be sent directly from the organization to Jefferson, scores released to students and opened will not be accepted.
