Transfer Guidelines by Student Type

Prospective Students

  • Evaluation of coursework will occur during the first semester as a Jefferson Community and Technical College student.
  • Prior to a student s first semester students should meet with an Advisor for assistance registering and understanding how their transfer credit applies to their Jefferson academic program.

Visiting

  • Although no evaluation of transfer work occurs, copies of unofficial transcripts are necessary to enter organized classes with pre-requisites.
  • You will need to submit a visiting student letter from your home college or university prior to enrollment.

Non-Degree Seeking Students

  • Although no evaluation of transfer work occurs, copies of unofficial transcripts are necessary to enter organized classes with pre-requisites.
  • Official transcripts are required during your first semester for your Admission file to be complete.

Entering Transfer Students

  • Evaluation of transfer work occurs during the first semester of enrollment for all degree seeking Jefferson transfer students.
  • Students will be able to view established equivalencies on their PeopleSoft account under View my Transfer Credit.

Prior Transfer Students

  • All coursework and transfer work entered prior to Fall 2004 is viewable only as the total number of hours posted, not as a course by course equivalencies.
  • If a student only sees a number of hours but cannot see any courses or JCTC equivalents please contact your evaluator.
  • Transfer credit that is posted in Legacy cannot be entered in a course by course manner.
  • Please contact your advisor for assistance in understanding credit that is posted in Legacy.
