Scholarships
Jefferson Community and Technical College is proud to offer a variety of scholarships thanks to the generosity of the college, businesses, donors, and foundation organizations.
Here at Jefferson, we value education and want all students to take advantage of the scholarship opportunities that are available to them.
To apply for Jefferson scholarships, only ONE online application is needed to match you to scholarships that you are eligible for! The scholarship application has two parts: (1) KCTCS General Application and (2) Jefferson Conditional Application.
Priority submission dates for Fall 2025/Spring 2026:
- High School Students - February 1, 2025
- Current Jefferson Students - March 1, 2025
Applications received after the priority due dates will be considered if funding is available.
To qualify for most scholarships, please complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA application. If a scholarship says that financial need is considered, then scholarship applicants must complete the FAFSA application.
If you have questions, please contact Financial Aid at jf-scholarships@kctcs.edu.

Important Scholarship Information
- Jefferson Scholarship application will open in November with priority due dates posted on this website. Students who apply after the priority due dates will be reviewed based on funding availability. Students MUST have the scholarship application and the FAFSA (for Fall/Spring of the next academic year) submitted by the priority due dates to be considered for scholarships.
- The Jefferson Scholarship Committee will meet in May to decide who will receive scholarships for the following Fall/Spring academic year. Awards will be posted, and notices will be sent to students by early July.
- Scholarships that cover tuition will be adjusted based on the number of credit hours students are enrolled. Courses that are not at Jefferson will not be covered which includes online courses. Students must maintain the minimum eligibility criteria for the scholarship for Fall and Spring semester to receive the scholarship.
- Failing to maintain the eligibility criteria of a scholarship will result in the scholarship being cancelled and given to another student.
- Jefferson Financial Aid Office will check for eligibility criteria and enrollment AFTER Fall or Spring census date. If a student is not meeting the eligibility criteria of the scholarship or is not enrolled by the census date, the scholarship will be cancelled and given to another student.
- Scholarships should disburse with Jefferson Financial Aid’s first disbursement date for Fall and Spring semesters.
- Scholarships can only be used at Jefferson Community and Technical College and are not transferable to any other college.
