Graduation

Congratulations!! You did it! We are so excited to celebrate your accomplishment! Your hard work has paid off and now it's time to celebrate. Below you will find more information about Jefferson's Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony and applying for Graduation. 

Credential Information

Your official credentials will not be handed out at the ceremony, but will be given to you at a later date.

If you live in Jefferson County, Anchorage, Buckner, Clarksville, Crestwood, Goshen, Jeffersonville, LaGrange, Louisville, Mount Washington, New Albany, Pewee Valley, Prospect and Shepherdsville, you will need to pick up your credentials from the Records Office on the Downtown Campus. The Record's Office will notify you when your credential is available for pick up.

Residents of all other counties will have their credentials mailed to them to the address used on their graduation application.

Getting your credential is a big deal! No matter how you receive them, pick up or mailed, make sure you celebrate! Credentials held in our offices, either for pickup or returned by USPS, may be destroyed after two years. Reprints are always available for $20 plus a ten week shipping time.  Contact us with questions!

If you move, make sure to contact the Records Office to update your address.

Ceremony

All students who earned a diploma or AA/AS/AAS during Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024 are eligible.

2024 Spring Commencement will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. This year's ONE ceremony for eligible students will be held at Freedom Hall.

Graduates will receive a notification in their KCTCS .edu email in March to RSVP for the event along with all updated event information.

Cap and Gown

The website to purchase your regalia for graduation is now open for reservation only, which means any orders for regalia at this point will be fulfilled by the bookstore, and inventory and sizing may not be exactly what students ordered. To ensure the accuracy and availability of products, it is highly recommended that you order your regalia as soon as possible!

Any other products ordered off the website (diploma frames, announcements, and rings) will be shipped directly to students as these are items that cannot be fulfilled by the bookstore.

Announcements are not invitations. If students want to use the announcements as invitations to their graduation ceremony, please note that production for the announcements is a 4-6 week lead time from the moment the order is placed.

Graduation Deadlines

• SPRING 2024: 
  The last day to submit a graduation application for the Spring 2024 term is March 15.
  Spring graduates will be awarded at around the end of May and
  Spring credentials be available in mid-July.
• SUMMER 2024: 
  The last day to submit a graduation application for the Summer 2024 term is July 5.
  Summer graduates will be awarded at end of August and Summer credentials be available in mid-October.
• FALL 2024: 
  The last day to submit an application for Fall 2024 graduation is October 18.
  Fall graduates will be officially awarded around the end of December/early January.
  Credentials will be available at the beginning of March.

Applying for Graduation

• The first step for graduating is to fill out a graduation application.
• If you are unsure what degree/certificate/diploma you are applying for you should contact your advisor or the Advising Center on your campus.
