Please be prepared to pay for books and supplies using resources other than Federal/State Financial Aid.

However, because aid disbursement cannot occur until approximately 3-4 weeks into the semester, the Barnes and Nobles campus bookstore locations will allow students to purchase books and supplies on credit, if you have enough anticipated Federal/State Financial Aid for the semester. This is for a limited time, which is generally 10 days before the traditional semester start and 9 days after.

For example for the Spring term if we start on January 9, the bookstore charging period would start on January 1 and end on January 20.

There are no other charging periods for different session start times throughout the term.

You must have more anticipated Federal/State Financial Aid than the cost of tuition and fees for the term. You must have more anticipated aid than the cost of tuition and fees for the term. You must sign a Financial Aid Release (Bookstore) Form available on under your 'Tasks; on your Self-Service page authorizing Jefferson to release the amount of anticipated aid to Barnes and Nobles. One time only - can be rescinded, if you already have a release on file, you do not have to complete another one.

The amount you charge at the bookstore is placed on your student account as a bookstore charge. If you change your course schedule AFTER making charges at the bookstore against ANTICIPATED aid, but BEFORE aid is actually applied to your account, this could create a balance due that aid will not cover. If you are unsure of this situation, please check with the Financial Aid Office

If you make charges against ANTICIPATED aid, but then NEVER attend class, your student aid will NOT be applied to your account and this will create a balance due that aid will not cover. If you are unsure of this situation, please check with the Financial Aid Office.
